Olympus has announced the launch of a new camera from its Stylus Tough Series, the Tough TG-850. The camera was designed for rugged environments and underwater usage, it can capture images up to 10m submerged and it features a 21-105mm 5x optical zoom lens, which according to Olympus is the widest lens of any rugged camera available in the market.
Other rugged features of the TG-850 includes shockproof up to 2.1m drops, dustproof, crushproof (able to withstand up to 100kg), and freezeproof (down to -10C). In addition to its noteworthy rugged features, it also has other features such as a 16MP BSI-CMOS sensor along with Olympus’ TruePic VII processor, there’s a 3-inch 180-degree flip LCD monitor and it can record Full HD videos at 60fps.
Olympus will start shipping the TG-850 in March 2014 for the price of $249.99, it will be available in three colors; black, white and silver.
