Olympus has announced its new XZ-1 Compact High-End HD Digital Camera which features an X-Factor design offering full manual control in slim, pocket-sized body and image quality with TruePic V image processor. It comes with a 10-Megapixel Sensor, a ultra wide angle iZUIKO f1.8-2.5 6.0-24mm lens with 4x optical zoom along with other X-Treme features such as six art filters, digital dual image stabilization, supports imager shift, there is the VF-2 electronic viewfinder or the newly introduced MAL-1 Macro Light and a 3-inch OLED display ideal for Live View or to review captured media.
Other specifications of the Olympus XZ-1 includes a HDMI port which enables the user to preview captured images and 1280x720p HD video on a HD TV or Monitor. Olympus has also announced that they will be offering the new PT-050 underwater case that has been customized for the Olympus XZ-1 which enables the device to be used under water up to 130 feet. The new Olympus XZ-1 is expected to be released in black and white for approximately $500 and is presently available on Amazon.
