OnStar has announced a price increase of $1 on both its Safe and Sound and Directions and Connections service packages that will go into effect on October 1st, 2013. The price increase will only impact subscribers in the U.S. with retail monthly service plan, it will not impact other countries, or subscribers with OnStar FMV (For My Vehicle).
OnStar has been around for quite some years and comes as a standard install in all General Motors vehicles, including GM, Buick, Cadillac and Chevrolet. The Directions and Connections plan will attract a one dollar increase from $28.90 to $29.90 per month.
OnStar’s D&C service will still have the same features, Stolen Vehicle Assistance, Automatic Crash Response, Emergency Services, Crisis Assist, Roadside Assistance, OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics, Remote Services, Destination Downloads and Turn-by-Turn Navigation.
The Safe and Sound plan which comes with all the securities of OnStar expect for unlimited Turn-by-Turn Navigation and Destination Download will get the one dollar increase from $18.95 to $19.95 per month.
Who will the price increase impact?
Subscribers in the US with retail monthly service plans will be impacted by the $1 increase. This includes all subscribers with monthly Safe & Sound and Directions & Connections service plans. The increase will not impact other countries, or subscribers with OnStar FMV (For My Vehicle).
When was the last OnStar price increase?
OnStar has not raised prices for over 6 years (since 2007) and has continued to add value to your services. Services like Turn-by-Turn Directions, Roadside service, discounted auto insurance with participating partners and our Emergency services have never been better.
Is GM Family First pricing impacted?
Yes, the GM Family First monthly price for the Safe & Sound service plan and Directions & Connections service plan will increase by $1, and annual plans will increase by $10, beginning October 1, 2013.
