Its only a few days since we introduced the Panasonic Eluga which is supposed to be a ruggedized smartphone but the specifications of the ultra-slim device were lacking. Thanks to AkihabaraNews out of Japan, we have gotten some details on what the new Smartphone will offer.
The Panasonic P-04D Eluga will comes in an ultra-slim frame which is waterproof with an IPX5/7 certification. The Eluga will be powered by a 1GHz Dual-core processor which manufacturer is still unknown to us, there’s a large 4.3-inch OLED display with a 960×540 pixel resolution as we said before, an 8-Megapixel camera around the back, Bluetooth connectivity for wireless connections, DLNA media sharing and Near Field Communication support (NFC).
The Eluga will use micro SIM like the iPhone, it supports quad-band GSM/EDGE and HSPA+ mobile networks and has an integrated 1150mAh battery that promises up to 300 hours of standby time or 240 minutes of talk time.
The Panasonic Eluga will debut at the MWC 2012 that kicks off next week in Spain so more details and better press shots should be available then. The smartphone will come with the Android 2.3 Gingerbread OS and the company plans to shoot the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update later.
