Panasonic has announced a new notebook in its Toughbook Line which is aimed at Business Users. Like the other members of the Toughbook line, the Toughbook F9 is a rugged device which gets a magnesium alloy case with handle, it gets a spill resistant keyboard and survives drops of 30-inch to the base of the unit while operating and 26 drops (to every side, corner and face) from 12-inch to a non-yielding surface. It is also claimed to be the industry’s lightest 14-inch laptop weighing at 3.6 pounds.
Specifications of the rugged business notebook includes a 14.1-inch LED-backlit LCD display with a 1440×900 pixel resolution, it is powered by an Intel Core i5-520M 2.4GHz processor, 320GB hard drive, a DVD SuperMulti Burner, integrated Graphics and up to 2GB of RAM. Other specs are its WiFi, Bluetooth and optional WIMAX 4G or Gobi 2000 3G connectivity, PC card slot, VGA and support for SD/SDHC cards. The Panasonic Toughbook F9 will be available as of July 1st with a starting price of $2899.
