Panasonic has expanded its line of ToughPad Tablet that runs on the Windows 8 Pro operating system, introducing the ToughPad FZ-G1 that runs the new Windows 8 operating system. Like other tablets in the series, the ToughPad FZ-G1 was designed for outdoor use and its aimed at professionals who work in environments too harsh for the conventional tablet.
It was designed to be dust-proof, shockproof and waterproof, it has a rubber bumper that protects the tablet in case there’s an accident. The FZ-G1 Rugged Tablet is powered by a 1.90GHz Intel Core i5-3437U processor, there’s an Intel QM77 Express Chipset, 128GB Solid State Drive for storage and 4GB of RAM.
It sports a 10.1-inch IPS multi-touch display which has a 1920×1200 resolution, there are dual cameras; a 3-Megapixel rear facing and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for chatting with colleagues while on the job. It also comes with essential features such as Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n connectivity, it features a USB 3.0 port and gets a HDMI port as well.
Panasonic announced that they will start selling the new ToughPad FZ-G1 Rugged Tablet on March 13th, no details on pricing have been revealed yet.
