Panasonic ToughPad JT-B1 Rugged Android Tablet

In addition to the recently launched ToughPad FZ-G1 Rugged Tablet that runs Windows 8, Panasonic has announced another from the ToughPad Series that goes by the model name ToughPad JT-B1 but runs on the Android platform.

Panasonic ToughPad JT-B1Like its predecessor, the ToughPad JT-B1 also comes with a ruggedized exterior that protects the tablet’s inner circuits from the elements, it is dust-proof, shockproof and waterproof. It comes with a rubber bumper around the edge to protect the tablet from accidental drops, plus there’s also a strap at the back to keep the tablet secure in your palm.

Specifications of the ToughPad JT-B1 Rugged Android Tablet includes a 7-inch touchscreen display with a 1024×600 pixel resolution, it is powered by a 1.5GHz OMAP4460 ARM Cortex-A9 dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage and a microSD card slot for expansion. The tablet also optionally supports a microSIM card slot which gives the tablet calling functions while out in the field, it supports Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi connectivity.

There are also dual cameras; a 13-megapixel shooter on the rear panel and a 1.3-megapixel camera on the front. The tablet runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS and goes on sale in early March at an unannounced price.
