Patriot Memory recently introduced its new Mac Series XT solid state drives that were optimized specially for use with Mac computers. This new series of SSDs are powered by Sandforce’s SF-2281 SSD processor and synchronous NAND Flash Memory. It device uses a SATA 6Gbps interface and offers a read speed of up to 520MB/s and a maximum write speed of up to 500MBs with 80,000 IOPS maximum 4k random write performance.
The new Mac Series XT SSDs comes in three different models, one which features 60GB of storage, 120GB and 240GB capacities. All models in the series offers support for DuraClass, DuraWrite for extended endurance and TRIM command for faster performance. It also includes Intelligent Block Management and Wear Leveling, Intelligent Read Disturb Management as well as RAISE and Intelligent Data Retention optimization. Patriot Memory also announced that they will be launching the Signature Apple DDR3 Non-ECC Unbuffered SODIMMs for Mac notebooks.
