Starting this November you won’t have to dip into your wallet for cash to pay for your cup of decaffeinated or caffeinated beverage from Starbucks.
Starbucks and mobile payment system Square announced a partnership that will let customers use Square Wallet to pay for beverages and pastries from any of their retail locations nationwide.
According to press release, Starbucks made a $25 million investment into Square back in August and Friday the company announced that the partnership will take off next month. The Square/Starbucks partnership will also give customers access to the Square directory, which help you to find the nearest of 7,000 Starbucks location.
Starbucks also said in the release that, starting next summer, it will enable digital tipping on its existing mobile payment app as well as through Square Wallet. The Coffee Chain also supports other mobile payments as it was unveiled that they have integrated with Apple’s Passbook service.
