A Norwegian based company called Prox Dynamics has developed the PD-100 Black Hornet which is the world’s smallest remote controlled (RC) helicopter which was developed by Prox Dynamics.
The World’s Smallest RC helicopter weights a total of only 15 grams. The sole purpose of the Black Hornet is to assist in spying and intelligence gathering missions with the small digital camera that is built into it. The PD-100 Black Hornet is operated by a remote controller which carries a LED display for the user to monitor the flight data, maps and camera feed.
The Black Hornet can be launched from the palm of your hands and has a top speed of 20 miles per hour. The project was started sometime in march 2008 and is scheduled for launch and was planned to launch in a year. So far the prototype was ready by April of this year and has been tested outdoors in light windy conditions.
The standard package will consist of three Black Hornet RC, a pocket controller and a charger.
