Plextor just announced that they are now offering Solid State Drives to consumers. The company recently launched their 64GB PX-64M1S and 128GB PX-128M1S Solid State Drives, both of the drives use non-volatile NAND flash memory and Marvell controller chipsets.
The 64GB drive offers a 110MB/s sequential read and 65MB/s sequential write speeds while the 128GB offers a write speed of up to 70MB/s and read speeds of up to 130MB/s. The 64GB PX-64M1S and 128GB PX-128M1S SSD comes in a 2.5-inch form factor and uses SATA II interface. The drives also comes with Acronis True Image software for backup and recovery.
The 64GB SSD will sell for $225 and the 128GB will go for $400.
