At the CES 2014, Polaroid announced its newest camera which is called the Socialmatic. This new camera joins the company’s line of instant digital cameras. You might be wondering whats so special about this new camera, first of all its the very first Wi-Fi enabled camera that the company has announced.
Specs-wise, the Polaroid Socialmatic features a 4.5-inch touchscreen LCD display, it has a 14-megapixel shooter and runs on the Android operating system. Connectivity options includes WiFi and Bluetooth plus it uses Polaroid’s Zero Ink technology (ZINK) which allows the user to print photos directly from the camera the instant they are captured, and it doesn’t require any ink cartridges.
Polaroid plans to start selling the new instant digital camera soon for the retail price of $299, which is kind of steep considering that most smartphones has the ability to snap photos with the same quality, and most of use only take photos for social media.
