RuggOn has announced the launch of its new Rextorm 10.1-inch fully rugged tablet series which features an ultra bright readable display which is ideal for workers using the device outdoors. RuggOn prides itself as the first company to release a 10.1-inch fully rugged tablet with a 1000 Nit brightness sunlight readable touch display with outer layer Gorilla Glass protection.
The fully rugged tablet meets MIL-STD-810G standards for shock and vibration, plus it also gets an IP65 rating, meaning it is resistant to drops on a concrete surface up to 5 feet. The device is powered by an Intel Core i5 “Haswell” or an Intel Atom “Bay Trail” dual-core processor which should keep productive up in the fields, 4GB or 8GB of DDR3 RAM and the option to choose between a 120GB or 240GB solid state drive.
The Rextorm fully rugged tablets comes in three different versions, the Rextorm PX-501, PM-521 and the PA-501. Each version comes with a hot swappable dual battery design allowing the user to switch out batteries without even turning off the device. The company is also making high capacity batteries available for extended field use which should provide up to 12 hours of battery life for the PM-521 and PX-501, and up to 22 hours for the PA-501 version.
The PM-521 comes with either Windows 7 or 8 Pro, PM-521 offers the option of either Windows (7/8/WES 7/WES 8) or Android operating systems on the same platform, while the PA-501 runs on Android operating system only. All version features standard USB 3.0, 2.0, RS232, RJ45, Micro-HDMI, and Micro-SD for expansion on storage. There’s also Bluetooth 4.0, optional 4G LTE and WiFi 802.11ac connectivity, no pricing details announced.
