[CES 2013] While DVD may seem to be in its last days of survival, it just happens not to be so. Most super-slim Ultrabooks do not come with built-in optical drive, and some users may need one for access to documents or multimedia content stored on optical discs.
Samsung just announced its new Ultra-Slim SE-218CB Portable DVD Burner comes in a compact form factor, it measures 148x14x143mm and lightweight which means it is an ideal companion for Ultrabook users need to access optical disc from time to time while out of the office.
It is also compatible with tablets with USB ports, enabling the user to read movie and data from the drive on their Android device. The portable burner is able to write DVD+/-R at 8X, DVD+RW at 8X, DVD-RW at 6x, DVD+/-R DL at 6x and DVD-RAM at 5x.
The drive comes with a feature called Buffer Under Run technology to prevent errors during burning process and enable PC multi-tasking. If you wish to see this drive in action, Samsung will have it on display at CES 2013 in Las Vegas.
