Samsung has announced the latest member of its Galaxy line, the Galaxy Note 8.0 which according to the company was designed to create “a sophisticated mobile experience that will enhance life on the go”. Its an 8-inch tablet that features phone phone functions for making calls and sending text messages.
Samsung follows the design of its Galaxy Note, Note 2 and Note 10.1 tablet, it comes with the S Pen for creativity expression and note taking, and features Air View for previewing photos, videos and emails ny hanging the pen over thr screen. The Galaxy Note 8.0 is also the first Galaxy Note that allows users to use the S Pen to control the physical menu/back buttons.
Details of the Hardware specifications, it is powered by a Samsung Exynos 4 1.6GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, plus it is available in a 16GB and 32GB model and offers support for microSD cards up to 64GB. There’s a WXGA HD display with a 1280×800 resolution, which is the same as that of the Note 10.1.
There are dual cameras; a 5-megapixel main camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera for video chatting, it supports AGPS/GPS/GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.0, dual-band WiFi 802.11b/g/n with WiFi Direct support and AllShare DLNA connectivity. The tablet runs Google’s Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean and plans to start selling the Galaxy Note 8.0 during Q2 to worldwide markets.
