Samsung Electronics unveiled it’s “next big thing”, the Galaxy S5 at this years Mobile World Congress. The smartphone was debut at MWC 2014 with one of the best cameras on a smartphone to date.
As one of the most anticipated smartphones of 2014, the Galaxy S5 comes bearing outstanding upgrades when compared to the previous model. Upgrades such as a more attractive design which is also more sturdy; it is water and dust resistant (IP67 standard). Samsung also added a much better battery which is atleast 20% better than that of the Galaxy S4, and a rear camera that packs super-fast auto-focus.
Samsung’s Galaxy S5 boasts a 5.1-inch FHD Super AMOLED display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 432 ppi density. The S5 is powered by a 2.5GHz Quad core Snapdragon 801 processor with 2GB of RAM, the device will be available in the storage capacities of 16GB and 32GB plus a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 128GB.
There’s a 16MP camera on the rear with super-fast autofocus allowing the user to capture images at a moments notice and a 2MP camera upfront with wide-angle lens and a 1920×1080 pixel resolution.
Other specifications includes Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, USB 3.0, IR Remote and 4G LTE connectivity. It also comes with a slew of sensors; Accelerometer, Gyro, Proximity, Compass, Barometer, Hall, RGB ambient light, Gesture, Fingerprint, and even an Heart Rate Sensor perfect for those who goes on early morning jogs.
