It appears that it will soon be the norm to see high-end smartphones with fingerprint sensor built-in, Apple announced its iPhone 5s which was first iPhone with a built-in fingerprint sensor and then Samsung announced its Galaxy S5 which features a fingerprint sensor as well, however it was swipe-based button which mean you have to swipe your finger on the home button to use the sensor.
According to rumors, Samsung plans to introduce a touch-based fingerprint sensor in the upcoming Galaxy S6. The report was spotted at SamMobile, and they are saying that the information came from their “highly credible” sources. The report further mentions that it will work in a similar fashion as the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 and the iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus.
The company is also expected to make the home button slightly bigger than previous models such as the Galasy S5 and the Galaxy Note 4 for better fingerprint reading and easier access. It is also being rumored that Samsung will allow users to perform a variety of task with the fingerprint sensor, including making a payment with PayPal, verifying your Samsung account, unlocking the device, and even signing into different applications.
