The Caribbean’s Number Mobile Carrier, Digicel has just announced the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab on to their subscribers on the Island of Jamaica. According to Patrick King, Head of Consumer Sales “Digicel is delighted to bring another ground-breaking innovation to our two million-plus customers – with this tablet it is user’s seventh sense on the go as they will have access to information and entertainment right at their finger tips.”
The Samsung Galaxy Tab as previously reported features a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen display with a resolution of 600 by 1024 and Samsung’s TouchWiz UI. Other specifications that techies in Jamaica will be enjoying is the Galaxy Tab’s Multitouch capabilities, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, 3G Support, its touch sensitive controls, Proximity sensor for auto turn-off and Swype text input and all the great features that the Android Froyo 2.2 OS has to offer.
The Galaxy Tab is powered by a 1GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, SGX540 graphics and instant access to social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. Digicel Subscribers will be able to purchase the Galaxy Tab at Digicel Retail stores island-wide.
