Samsung’s newest consumer tablet fit for any Professional.
Samsung just launched its new flagship tablet, the Galaxy Tab S6. The new ultra-slim tablet comes with a slew of improvements over the brand’s previous model.
The Tab S6 comes equipped with a large AMOLED display and powered by a high-end Qualcomm processor. Samsung also integrated an under-display fingerprint scanner for added security.
In terms of Aesthetics, the tablet features a sleek and elegant design with super-thin bezels. It measures only 5.7mm thin and weighs a mere 420 grams, traveling with this tablet shouldn’t be a hassle.
Apparently, Samsung also considered enterprise adoption as they added compatibility with Samsung’s DeX platform for productivity applications, Samsung’s Knox security platform and Samsung’s new S Pen Stylus with remote control functions.
For the first time on a consumer tablet from a major manufacturer, the Tab S6 features a dual-camera setup on the back. There’s a front-facing camera module for video calling and selfies as well.
Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Specifications
Equipped with a 10.5-inch Super AMOLED display and a native resolution of 2560 x 1600 resolution, the Tab S6 just screams productivity. Behind the stunning display is an integrated Adreno 640 GPU that delivers a 20% performance boost over its predecessor.
The Samsung Tab S6 is powered by Snapdragon 855 chipset with four high-performance cores and four low-power cores. The processor is accompanied by either a 6GB or 8GB RAM with 128GB or 256GB storage options. Memory expansion supported with an integrated card slot with microSDXC card compatibility.
On the rear, there’s the dual-camera setup which includes; a 13-megapixel RGD sensor and a 5-megapixel depth sensor with an ultra-wide lens. Even though the device has an impressive camera setup, Samsung forgot to add an LED flash for low light conditions.
On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel shooter for all your selfies and video calling.
Connectivity options on the Tab S6 includes; WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and Mu-Mimo wireless options. Wired connections include USB 3.1 Type-C for data and charging.
Like most high-end tablets from Samsung, the Tab S6 features integrated POGO connectors for a keyboard.
Samsung hinted that there will be two variants of the Tab S6 Tablet; a WiFi-only model and a 4G/LTE model coming this year.
Despite its impressive productivity options, Samsung still though about users with music and other entertainment needs.
For entertainment purposes, Samsung integrated quad-speakers tuned by an audiophile company AKG with Dolby.
It has a 7040mAh battery and runs Android 9.0 Pie OS right out the box.
Galaxy Tab S6 Accessories
Samsung packed a few accessories in the box which should help with productivity and a little added security while others will be sold separately.
In the packaging, there’s a POGO charging dock, the new S Pen Stylus, and a slim cover, whereas, the removable keyboard will be sold separately.
S Pen Stylus: The new stylus acts as a remote controller for select applications. Samsung carved a groove into the back that stows the S Pen.
Book Cover Keyboard: The dedicated keyboard comes with a special DeX key to launch or close Samsung’s DeX platform.
POGO Charging Dock: Ideal for quick recharging with a simple dock.
