Sony announced its new 4K Ultra HD camera FDR-X1000V during the CES 2015 International technology show in Las Vegas. According to the company, the new 4K Ultra HD camera is due for launch in March of this year and should be priced at around $500 or with a Live View Remote for an extra $100.
The Sony 4K FDR-X1000V offers users a compact splash-proof POV action camera capable of capturing 4K Ultra HD content at a resolution of 3840 × 2160 @30p 100Mbps1/60Mpbs. The device is also equipped with a ZEISS Tessar lens with an ultra-wide angle with a 170 degree field of view.
It’s also equipped with a back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and a BIONZ X processor. The camera also features the acclaimed full pixel readout technology from other high-end Sony cameras including the popular ?7 S.
This allows the camera to read and process data from all of the sensor’s pixels to create exceptionally smooth, highly detailed 4K and HD videos in a variety of formats including MP4 and the high data stream XAVC S codec.” No details has been released on pricing but we’ll keep you updated as more information surfaces about its launch.
