Along with the Brother of the Alpha 900, the Alpha DSLR-A850, Sony also announced the Alpha a550 and the a500 DSLR Cameras. The Alpha a550 is a 14.2 Megapixel camera and the Alpha a550 is a 12.3 Megapixel with both having an ISO sensitivity up to 12800.
These tow new DSLR Camera comes with the BIONZ image processor which features an advanced color-noise reduction and both also has Sony’s Exmor CMOS image sensor. The Alpha a550 and a500 DSLRs can both shoot up to five frames per second using optical viewfinder and up to four frames per second with Quick Auto Focus Live View.
The Alpha a550 features a 3-inch LCD display with 921,000 pixels while the Alpha a500 has a 3-inch LCD display just the same but with only 230,000 pixels.
Other features of the cameras includes High Dynamic Range (HDR) that will capture highlights and shadows, SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilization, Quick Auto Focus Live View with Face Detection.
The Sony Alpha a550 and a500 DSLR Cameras are priced at $950 and $750 for the body only, if you want the camera body and 18-55 kit lens then it will cost $1050 and $850 respectively.
