Sony has announced that they have once again expanded the Cyber-Shot series with the DSC-TX200V, a slim, stylish compact and ruggedized digital camera that follows the Cyber-shot DSC-TX10. The Cyber-Shot DSC-TX200V comes equipped with a rugged exterior to protect itself against the elements of nature. The unit is waterproof up to 5 meters / 16-feet, freeze-proof in temperatures down to 14°F and it is also dustproof.
The camera was designed with reinforced glass placed on the front for durability, it comes equipped with a slim design which makes it ideal to tag along with as it will fit in your pocket or purse. The Cyber-Shot DSC-TX200V packs an 18.2-megapixel Exmor R CMOS image sensor, the new BIONZ processor that was designed specially for low-noise images, it features a 5x optical zoom lens with Clear Image Zoom technology which boosts the devices’ zoom range to 10x.
Some of the features expected from the new compact camera includes Superior Auto mode, Intelligent Scene Recognition mode, 3D shooting modes, Face Detection technology, Smile Shutter, Motion Detection, Anti-blink, and Soft Skin mode. It has the Photo Creativity function that allows users to fine-tune the camera’s exposure settings such as its brightness and color.
Other than its features that were listed above, the Cyber-Shot DSC-TX200V is equipped with a 3-inch OLED touchscreen display that allows the user to easily keep objects in frame, it is equipped with GPS functions that records location data and the direction you are headed as you shoot photos and videos on the go, this function makes it ideal for outdoor adventures.
Another cool function is the Dual-Record that allows the DSC-TX200V to record Full HD 1080p movies and snap 13-megapixel quality images at the same time.
