Sony Ericsson also unveiled two new smartphones with the Xperia Active Smartphone, the Xperia ray Smartphone and the Txt QWERTY Messaging Smartphone. Both smartphones are expected to be available on selected markets during Q3 on 2011 but no pricing information has been announced of either of the devices.
The Sony Ericsson Xperia ray features a similar design to the previous released Xperia arc but it gets a smaller display, it comes with a 3.3-inch FWVGA touchscreen Mobile BRAVIA display with a 480×854 pixel resolution as well as an aluminum frame that looks similar to that of the Xperia arc. The devices’ frame measures 111mm x 53mm x 9.4mm (4.37in x 2.09in x 0.37in) and weighs in at 100grams, it is powered by a 1GHz processor, it only gets 300MB on internal storage but there is a 4GB microSD card bundled in the package but if that’s not enough the user has the choice to swap it out with a 32GB card. It is also equipped with a 8.1-Megapixel camera with HD 720p video recording plus a front-facing VGA camera that enables video calling. When it launches there will be a choice of colors which includes black, gold, white, or pink.
The Sony Ericsson txt is a QWERTY Messaging Smartphone that comes with a 2.6-inch LCD display with a 240×320 pixel resolution, it features a candy-bar form factor, a 3.2-Megapixel camera with video recording plus integrated access to social networking applications such as Facebook and Twitter. When the Sony Ericsson Txt QWERTY Smartphone launches it will be available in the colors of White, Black, Pink and Blue.
