Sony also announced the Handycam HDR-TD10 which is claimed to be the world’s first Double Full HD 3D consumer camcorder on the market. The Handycam HDR-TD10 comes with an integrated dual lens system which enables the device to record 3D images with two main components, double Sony G Lenses, double Exmor R back-illuminated CMOS image sensors, and double BIONZ image processors. Other specifications of the Handycam HDR-TD10 includes a 10x optical zoom in 3D mode, it has the capability of recording 1920×1080 Full HD 60p/24p videos and it has 65GB of internal flash memory which is just enough to store 25 hours of 2D HD video or up to 5 hours of HD 3D videos.
The HDR-TD10 also supports 5.1-channel Surround sound, it comes equipped with an integrated 5.1 channel surround microphone for dynamic surround sound, there is also wind noise reduction for clear voice recording, has a 3.5-inch glasses-free 3D Xtra Fine LCD touch panel display with TruBlack technology and other advanced features such as switching between 2D/3D modes, Intelligent Auto mode, Golf Shot mode and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization with Active Mode.
The Sony Handycam HDR-TD10 is expected to be launched in April 2011, it is presently available for pre-order on Amazon for a price of $1499.99 per unit.
