Sony just released its new HandyCam HDR-GW66VE, a rugged pocket camcorder which was initially introduced in Europe and aimed at outdoor enthusiasts.
The handycam is IP58-rated for waterproof to a depth of 10 meters (compare to 5 meters of its brother GW77) and dustproof, plus it meets MIL-STD 810 standard to withstand drops from 1.5m meters. The HandyCam HDR-GW66VE is also freezeproof to -10C and resistant to dirt.
The HandyCam GW66 comes equipped with 20.back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS Sensor enabling the user to record Full HD 1920x1080p videos, and it features a 10x optical zoom Sony G lens to capture scenes near and far.
The camcorder also features a 3-inch Clear Photo LCD display and there’s also an HDMI output, and supports Memory Stick Micro (M2) or MicrSD/SDHC/SDXC card for storage.
