Sony announced two new Av Receivers to its ES-Series, the Sony STR-DA5500ES and STR-DA3500ES AV Receivers at the CEDIA electronic show. First lets start with the Sony STR-DA5500ES, it is a 7.1 AV receiver with 120 watts per channel and also the first Sony receiver to include Automatic Phase Matching (APM), which corrects phase differences between speakers. It has six HDMI inputs, two HDMI outputs, it has Control4 home automation systems which allows it to be controlled over a network, capable of stream audio via shoutcast and Rhapsody plus it is DLNA compliant. It will be available in October with a suggested price of $2,000.
The Sony STR-DA3500ES AV Receiver is a 7.1 AV receiver just the same but only offers 100 watts per channel. It also offers onboard decoding for Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio, four HDMI inputs, a graphic user interface and it is XM and Sirius ready just for $1000.
