Sony recently launched its newest Home Theater projector on the market which goes by the model name, VPL-VW1000ES. The Sony VPL-VW1000ES is a 4K home theater projector and according to the company, it is the world’s first 4K projector designed for high-end theater installations.
The new VPL-VW1000ES utilizes 4K native SXRD panels to deliver a 4096×2160 pixel resolution, it features a Super Resolution 4K “upscaler” RealityCreation to dramatically enhance 2D and 3D 1080p content and thanks much to its Iris3 Technology, the project has a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio plus a 2000 ANSI lumens brightness.
Specifications-wise the VPL-VW1000ES has a 4K All-Range Crisp Focus (ARC-F) lens with 2.1x zoom for optimized 4K images, it’s lens has a wide lens shift range of 80% vertical and 31% horizontal. The projector also comes equipped with a built-in 3D transmitter to synchronize 3D glasses, and it is also able to display anamorphic images and 3D without changing the lens.
Sony also added a few connectivity options to the VPL-VW1000ES which includes two HDMI, a component and a D-Sub input, it has Ethernet RJ45, RS232C, 12V trigger interfaces plus it is also compatible with automation integrators. The new Sony VPL-VW1000ES is presently available from Amazon for the price of $19, 149.99
