[CES 2013] Sony has announced its new flagship Xperia Z Smartphone at the CES Tradeshow in Las Vegas. The new Sony Xperia Z features a styish, unique design with high-end hardware specifications which could put it up against the Galaxy S III and the iPhone 5.
First amongst its impressive list of features is its 7.9mm thin frame, it comes equipped with a 5-inch Full HD 1080p 443ppi Reality Display powered by Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 for super brightness and clarity, which automatically approves this as a direct competitor of the Ascend D2 just unveiled by Huawei. Back to the design, it features a OmniBalance design with subtly rounded edges and smooth reflective surfaces.
The Xperia Z is a durable device which is protected by tempered glass and anti-shatter film on the front and back, plus its also IP55/57 dust and water resistance.
It is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, it has Adreno 320 graphics, and 2GB of RAM. On the back of the Xperia Z there is a 13-megapixel camera capable of 10fps burst shooting at 9 Megapixel resolution and capturing still images during video recording, while the front hosts a 2-megapixel camera with Exmor R for clear and sharp video chat. Both cameras has the ability to record Full HD 1080p videos.
Sony’s Xperia Z smartphone also comes with a variety of connectivity options include NFC (Near Field Communication) support, Bluetooth, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n and 4G LTE support. No pricing details or availability date has been announced for the Xperia Z just yet but we will keep you updated once we know which carrier in the US will be getting it.
