Late last week we told you of Sony’s plan to release the new Xperia Z Tablet on January 22nd, after it was leaked by the NTT DoCoMo’s website, but were later removed by the website.
Sony just pulled the wraps off its Xperia Z tablet, according to the details just released by the company it comes equipped with a 10.1-inch touchscreen display with a 1920×1200 pixel resolution, it is powered by a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and gets a slim design that measures an impressive 6.9mm which makes it thinner than Apple’s iPad mini.
According to Sony, the Xperia Z comes with an 8-Megapixel rear-facing camera which claims to be the first backside-illuminated camera that they have put into a tablet for capturing images in low-light situations. Sony also boasts that the tablet will also introduce protective features such as waterproof and dustproof.
The Xperia Tablet Z will also pack LTE and NFC connectivity and is said to be available in Japan this Spring. There’s no word on when the Xperia Z tablet will be available stateside nor how much the new waterproof tablet will cost!
