Sprint and its pre-paid carrier Boost Mobile have announced that they will be getting a new smartphone that will protect itself from liquid getting on the inside, its the sequel to the Kyocera Hydro that was release some months ago. Introducing the Kyocera Hydro-Edge, the main feature of this smartphone is that it’s water resistant and can be submerged in water up to 3.28 feet for 30 minutes without suffering any damages.
So if you should accidentally spill a glass of water on this smartphone, you don’t have to worry about buying a new smartphone. It comes equipped with a 4-inch touchscreen display and runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. The Hydro Edge is powered by a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and it uses smart it receiver technology to improve its audio quality in noisy environments.
Other specifications of the Hydro Edge is a 5-Megapixel rear camera that features led flash as well as the ability to record video. It will be offered by Boost Mobile on a pre-paid plan that goes at $55 monthly with unlimited nationwide talk, text and picture messaging. There’s no details on how much the handset will cost overall, but it could be in the $100 range.
