Sprint announces the Motorola PHOTON 4G Android Smartphone

Both the Motorola TRIUMPH and the Motorola PHOTON 4G Smartphones were unveiled yesterday. Unlike the Triumph, the PHOTON 4G will be offered by Sprint and not its pre-paid brand Virgin Mobile. The PHOTON 4G is the first smartphone for Sprint that packs a dual-core processor, the 4G phone comes equipped with a 4.3-inch qHD touchscreen display with a 540×960 pixel resolution, it packs an 8-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash plus there is a front-facing VGA camera for video calling. It is powered by a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 Dual-Core Processor, it has 16GB of on-board storage and a microSD card slot that supports cards up to 32GB. Other specifications of the Photon 4G includes WiFi, Bluetooth and a 3G/4G Wi-Fi hotspot that enables the user to share a connection plus users will have access to Sprint’s 4G WiMAX. The Smartphone is also expected to ship with an HD Dock kinda like the Motorola ATRIX Smartphone, it runs the Android 2.3 Gingerbread and will be available from Sprint this Summer.
