ViewSonic just unveiled its newest member of the ViewPad line, the E100. This new tablet comes equipped with a 9.7-inch SuperClear IPS touchscreen display with a 1024×768 pixel resolution, it has other features such as a 800:1 contrast ratio and a 420cd/m2 brightness display.
We have never seen the tablet upclose but judging from the press photos, it has an iPad-like design. The tablet runs the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS with ViewScene 3D, ViewSonic’s custom designed user interface which offers special animations and effects plus a custom 3D widget as well.
Other specifications of the tablet includes a 1.3-Megapixel front-facing camera, it has 4GB of internal storage plus it also offers support for microSD/SDHC cards up to 32GB. There’s a mini HDMI port for users to bring HD media content to a big screen, Bluetooth and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity as well.
The new ViewPad is expected to hit selected markets soon, markets such as the US where it will be sold at $299 per unit.
