Mobvoi has announced a new smartwatch, the TicWatch Pro which features an impressive 30-day battery life.
The TicWatch Pro Smartwatch main selling point is its month-long battery life while in its low power “Essential mode” and retails for $250 at Amazon.
The Mobvoi TicWatch Pro comes equipped with a 1.39-inch OLED 400 x 400-pixel display, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor with 512MB of RAM and 4GB of storage capacity.
It runs on Google’s Wear operating system and comes with a slew of connectivity options including WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and Near Field Communication.
The watch features an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, but the manufacturer is recommending not to swim with the device.
They are also claiming that it will survive if submerged in up to 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes.
There’s an integrated 415mAh battery that promises up to 2 days of battery life in “Smart Mode”, however you can expect 30 days when operating in the “Essential Mode”. There are two displays; a transparent low-power FSTN display layered on top of the OLED screen.
The OLED screen is instantly disabled once the device has been switched over to the Essential mode.
“Essential Mode” allows the user to still tell the time, see the step counter and heart rate monitor but unable to use other smart features of the watch. Users can manually switch modes to preserve battery life before getting to a recharge outlet.
“Smart Mode” allows users to access Google Play Store, Google Assistant, Google Pay among other features such as fitness tracking and heart rate monitor. The TicWatch Pro will automatically reconnect with your smartphone once switched over to the Smart Mode.
TicWatch Pro Smartwatch is highly customizable with thousands of watch faces to choose from, available exclusively from the TicWatch Pro line.
