TomTom is known of its large range of navigation devices and services, the company just announced the launch of its new Ride Navigation device that was designed specially for bikers who needs navigational support. It is a portable GPS device that allows the user to choose the way they want to ride, plus it will work in all-weather conditions.
It comes equipped with a wide range of biker-friendly features including the ability to choose the most scenic route on the way to an intended destination, it gives the opportunity for the rider to personalize their routes, and the Windings Roads allows you to select routes with the most bends for a more exciting ride.
The device features a 4.3-inch glove-friendly touch display that is viewable even under bright direct sunlight, the device meets IPX7 rating to protect against any wet-weather conditions and it comes with RAM mounting hardware to fit most bikes and charging bike mount with battery cable. There are points of interest (POIs) for riders, and the Upload Routes allowing the user to upload routes captured online directly to the device using a personal computer.
TomTom plans to start selling the new Rider GPS Navigation on the UK market, it will go for the retail price of GBP329.99 per unit.
