Toshiba announced the newest Consumer Electronic in its line up of products, the Toshiba CELL REGZA 55X1 LCD TV. It is the flagship to the company’s REGZA line-up and is also the world’s first LCD TV integrating the Cell Broadband Engine. The Cell REGZA 55X1 is built using Toshiba’s CELL Platform which is a combination of the high speed parallel processing of the Cell Broadband Engine 2, specially developed for demanding multimedia applications.
The Toshiba CELL REGZA 55X1 LCD TV offers a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, ultra-high-speed processing and recording, a LED backlight control system and a storage capacity of up to 3TB which allows it to record 26 hours of programming for up to eight channels onto 2TB of the storage capacity thanks to the REGZA 55X1 feature called the time-shift machine.
The CELL REGZA 55X1 will be available in the Japanese market from the beginning of December.
