[CES 2012] Toshiba has announced at the CES 2012, its new Excite X10 Tablet that the company claims to be the world’s thinnest 10-inch tablet and headed for the U.S Market. The Excite X10 is the name given for this region, but its already available on different markets under different names. It is known as the AT200 on some markets while it goes by the Regza AT700 on the Japanese Market.
It features a frame that measures only 7.7mm thick and weighs just 535g, its thin and lightweight body casing was constructed using magnesium alloy which makes it light but durable. It is powered by a 1.2GHz TI OMAP 4430 dual-core processor with 1GB of RAM and comes in a 16GB or 32GB option.
The Excite X10 features a 10.1-inch HD IPS LED-backlit display with a 1280×800 pixel resolution with 10-finger multitouch support which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and an anti-smudge coating for better resiliency. On the rear is a 5-megapixel camera with LED-flash, there’s a front-facing 2-megapixel camera plus it also comes with built-in speakers that are backed by Toshiba and SRS Labs sound enhancement. The X10 also features Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi connectivity, price starts at $529.99 for the 16GB model and $599.99 for the 32GB when they get released later this year.
