Toshiba has unveiled its new 32-inch HDTV from its REGZA Series on the Japan Market. The digital High-Definition Television comes with 32-inch screen that has LED-Backlight and according to the company it draws zero Watts from the power outlet when in standby thanks to a new built-in Eco Chip.
To achieve this function, the Eco Chip is operated by electric power charging capacitor capacity that is also built into the HDTV which provides the electricity the TV needs to stay on while in standby mode. Other its ZeroWatt function, there are other eco-friendly features found on the REGZA 32BE3, such as an Eco button on the remote which changes the brightness and contrast based on ambient lighting in order to save more power and the option to select the intensity of the LED backlighting by 50 or 75 percent to save on power consumption.
Toshiba REGZA 32BE3 delivers a 1366×768 resolution while other HDTV delivers a Full HD 1920×1080 resolution. The REGZA 32BE3 Eco-friendly HDTV is presently available on the Japanese market for the price of 90,000 Yen which is approximately $1200 USD.
