Toshiba has taken the wraps off its new innovation that will be showcased at CES 2013 starting tomorrow, the unveiling took place at a private press event Sunday evening, where the company gave a first look at their upcoming line of Ultra HD 4K TVs.
The L9300 series is headlined by an 84-inch model but also includes a 58 and 65-inch set. All the televisions in Toshiba’s 4K series is powered by its own CEVO 4K Quad + Dual Core Processor, which gives the televisions the ability to convert standard 1080p content to the 4K resolution without creating any artifacts in the process.
The 4K format offers up to four times the pixel resolution of a standard 1080p Full-HD television, with pictures at an amazing 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. Other than converting regular 1080p video formats to 4K resolution, the built-in processor also boosts the video’s contrast for better viewing quality. The L9300 series of Ultra HD 4K televisions is expected to ship this summer for a yet-to-be-announced price.
