Transcend just unveiled its 512GB model Solid State Drive to the recently released SSD720 series line-up. Just like previous models including the 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, the 512GB model also utilizes the SATA 6.0 Gbps interface and is powered by a SandForce SF-2281 controller, which features eight memory channels that are to be connected to NAND Flash memory chips.
The company didn’t reveal the type of NAND being used in the series but they did release performance numbers. The 512GB model will be able to read data sequentially at speeds of up to 550MB/s and write speeds of up to 500MB/s. Transcend also mentioned that the maximum 4K random write performance of the series should be somewhere about 85,000 IOPS.
The SSD720 series also features DuraClass and DuraWrite technologies, the 64GB model goes for $149, the 128GB and 256GB goes for $249 and $449, respectively while the new 512GB model price hasn’t been revealed yet.
