[CES 2012] In addition to its line of waterproof media players, Fitness Technologies will also have the Uwater series of digital cameras on display at the CES 2012. These waterproof cameras comes from the company’s HD Uwater Action Cam line which is also their first line of full-day 8 hour Action cameras. There are three camera, the UwaterHD3X waterproof up to 30 meters, the UwaterHD55 that is waterproof up to 60 meters and the UwaterHD77 all-weather camera.
All the cameras has something in common such as the Radial Heat Sink Technology that was invented by aircraft engine manufacturers to remove the heat engines generate thus increasing its efficiencies, this is the technology that enables the UwaterDX line of cameras to be used underwater as well as outside the water using its air flow cooling technology as well. The company will also be unveiling their Uwater DX waterproof light series that can be mounted to each of the cameras for clearer underwater shots.
The UwaterHD3X features an all-metal design constructed from machined aluminum, it is 100% waterproof when submerged up to 30 meters without a case, it comes equipped with a 5-megapixel sensor that is capable of capture quality underwater images with single button operation, it records 720p HD videos at 30fps, there’s an integrated memory card slot for cards up to 32GB and the camera is backed by a rechargeable battery that promises an extended run-time of up to 8 hours.
The UwaterHD55 (photo to the top) also comes with 100% waterproof protection up to 60 meters but its underwater case is needed, comes in an extra lightweight body that weighs only 3oz making it an easy task to carry around, it has a standard Tripod mount, an 8-megapixel camera with 720p or 1080p HD video recording at 60fps, it has a 1.5-inch color display and a memory card slot for 32GB cards as well.
The UwaterHD77 on the other hand was designed for all-weather conditions but can only be used up to 5 meters submerged without a case, it features a 5-megapixel camera sensor, it can record 720p or 1080p HD videos at 60fps, a 32GB memory card slot, tripod mount, rechargeable battery with up to 8 hours of usage and a 1.5-inch color LCD display for previewing your shots before capture.
Fitness Technologies will kick off sales for the Uwater HD3X, HD55 and HD77 Waterproof camera in March of this year for the prices of $200, $250 and $250, respectively. They also plan to have a few accessories such as mounting for helmets, bikes, boards and the body as well as its Uwater DX lights which includes the UwaterDX340, UwaterDX1000 and UwaterDX3000 going for the prices starting at $185. Fitness Technology will be at the CES 2012 starting Jan 10-13 in Las Vegas, they can be found at booth #3018 North Hall.
