Verizon Wireless has again announced another rugged handset to its line-up of G’zOne Handsets that they offer from Casio. The new G’zOne Commando meets military spec standards as it will protect itself from rain, immersion, shock, altitude, solar radiation, salt fog, high temperature, vibration and dust. It comes with a 3.7-inch touchscreen display, it runs the Android Froyo 2.2 with a custom software as the interface by the name of G’zGear that was designed to appeal to outdoor adventurers. The G’zGear Package includes adventure training module, it has an enhanced compass, pedometer, tide monitor, trip recorder and a star gazing app as well. It also packs a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash for taking stills and videos while out on an adventure, there is GPS navigation, Bluetooth and WiFi connetivity. Verizon Wireless will begin offering the handset on April 28th for a price of $199.99 with a new two-year contract.
