In addition to the DROID Mini Smartphone, Verizon Wireless also announced the DROID ULTRA which comes with a super slim form factor which comes with glossy color Kevlar composite unibody. The DROID ULTRA features a 5-inch 1280x720p HD touchscreen display and a body that measures a mere 7.18mm thick and has a clean, premium look and feel.
The DROID ULTRA is powered by Motorola’s X8 SnapDragon S4 Pro 1.7Ghz dual-core CPU, a quad-core Adreno 320 GPU, a natural language processor and a contextual computing processor. There’s a 10-Megapixel camera with LED flash and a 2 Megapixel front camera. It includes Active Display that will light up a portion of the screen to show notification, without illuminating your whole screen or wasting battery; and the Quick Capture that lets you to shake to wake the phone by quickly twisting your wrist and tap anywhere on the screen to snap a pic.
It has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, it runs on Android 4.2.2 operating system. It supports Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC, GPS/AGPS and HSDPA/LTE connectivity. Instead of micro SIM, the handset uses Nano SIM, like the iPhone 5. It is priced at $199.99 with a 2-year contract.
