Western Digital has announced its new My Passport Pro Thunderbolt Hard Drive which was designed to deliver ultra fast transfer speeds, which makes it ideal for professionals who needs the speed while on the go. WD recently announced the My Passport Pro which they are claiming to be the world’s first portable Thunderbolt hard drive.
The WD My Passport Pro is slightly thicker and bigger when compared to the conventional portable hard drive, it can be configured as RAID 0, although users can swap to RAID 1 if they want, it comes in two different models; 2TB and 4TB models.
The company also noted that the My Passport Pro will deliver transfer speeds at 233MB/s, which is fast enough for you to use it as a boot drive. No pricing details were announced for the ultra fast portable hard drive but storage devices in this class is always pricey.
