In addition to expanding its My Passport line of portable hard drives with a 2TB model, Western Digital just launched its new MyBook Thunderbolt Duo dual-drive storage system, which WD says is the company’s first external hard drive to use Thunderbolt technology.
The MyBook Thunderbolt Duo will be available in 4TB and 6TB storage capacities, the devices comes with two hard drives and can be configured to run in RAID 0 striping mode for max speeds, or in RAID 1 for double-safe data protection or if you prefer, you could just set them to JBOD mode, to use as two individual drives.

The Western Digital My Book Thunderbolt Duo has two Thunderbolt connectors on the back, it will deliver super fast transfer speeds, it works with Apple’s Time machine and you also get the option to connect up to 6 drives for enhanced performance. The My Book Thunderbolt Duo is currently listed for sale, the 4TB model goes for $599.99 while the 6TB model goes for $699.99.
