It came as a surprise when Microsoft announced that its upcoming operating system Windows 10, will be offered as a free update to users who have Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 on their computers. The company stated that for the first year of Windows 10 launch, users interested to upgrade will be able to do so free.
We’re uncertain how the update to the new version of Windows will be done, but according to Microsoft this will get all the Windows devices on the same platform, giving developers the opportunity to focus on a wider audience.
According to Microsoft: “Windows 10 represents the first step of a whole new generation of Windows. Windows 10 unlocks new experiences for customers to work, play and connect. Windows 10 embodies what our customers (both consumers and enterprises) demand and what we will deliver.”
